Logline: Facing money woes, three impulsive hustlers’ team up to chase quick cash in Detroit’s wacky neighborhoods but their secrets threaten to destroy their deep friendship.
Role: Director. I directed a proof-of-concept with an insider’s look Detroit and it’s the current landscape. Strategically used costumes and casting to underscore the lack of realism, nuance in programming featuring lower class POC characters. Rebranded Detroit as a classic working-class but artsy American city by using archival footage and choosing locations and angles that pay homage to Wes Anderson.
Location scouting: Selected locations that rebranded Detroit from the media's depiction as a "Mad Max" wasteland to a vibrant, quirky, and nuanced city.
Costuming: Collaborated with actors to develop a gritty, bold, and authentic wardrobe that captures Detroit’s dynamic street culture.
